Kathleen
Kathleen has been part of the Lifest community since 2019. Over the years, having familiar and consistent support has been an important part of helping Kathleen feel comfortable and confident in her day-to-day life.
Her supports play an important role in helping her maintain her home and feel safe in her surroundings, while also creating plenty of opportunities to get out, stay active and connect with others.
Kathleen enjoys getting out into the community and spending time at the community centre, where she can socialise, participate in activities and enjoy time with others. And if there is an op shop nearby, you can be fairly confident Kathleen already knows about it! Her love of op shopping, closely followed by her impressive collection of incense, has become a much-loved part of her personality.
For Kathleen, it is the little things that make a difference: familiar faces, getting out and about, enjoying her favourite activities and having the freedom to do the things she loves.

Xavier
Xavier joined Lifest in 2022 with a focus on building a more stable and fulfilling life at home and in his community.
From the beginning, it was important to Xavier that he was supported to remain at home and maintain his wellbeing, while working towards his longer-term goals. A key part of his journey has been building his physical strength and confidence, with the hope of one day pursuing trade work.
Just as importantly, Xavier wanted to bring more enjoyment and fun back into his life. With the support of his Lifest team, he has been able to spend more time doing things he enjoys, including going to the movies, playing golf and swimming.
Xavier’s journey is a great example of the importance of person-centred support: understanding what matters to someone, working towards their goals and creating opportunities for them to enjoy life along the way.

Jade
Jade joined Lifest in 2025 with a clear goal in mind: finding a place he could truly call home, alongside his much-loved dog, Ziggy.
For Jade, finding the right home was about more than simply finding somewhere to live. It was important that he found a living arrangement that suited his personality, lifestyle, and love of independence, as well as someone he was genuinely compatible with to share that home.
With the right support around him, Jade has been able to work towards creating a home environment that feels comfortable, familiar and, most importantly, like his own. And of course, Ziggy is very much part of the package!

“How do you like your support from Lifest?”
It’s Wonderful

Experience with Lifest - I’m happy, i feel like i am progressing in life, I’m happy i can do things easily with the help of my support workers.
I can do my shoe laces, I can sew little bits at a time, with good explanation my brain is able to understand and go forwards, I can mop again and clean the toilets, clean up after my dog, I’ve made friends in my apartment's complex, i don’t have to shy away from activities and I can do little by little, I am more open to having a chat with people over coffee or tea, I complete more washing nowadays.
I like to going shopping or op shopping, sewing, tidying, doing nails, cooking, gardening, visiting the women’s group down stairs.

(Mother of Katie)
My experience with Katie's Lifest Team has always been perfect. If I have any questions the Staff always answer promptly and helpfully.
Katie is always a lot happier now when I visit. She is always spotlessly clean and comfortable. The staff are always aware of Katie's needs and she is no longer frustrated trying to get her needs understood.
The Staff interact regularly with Katie. I find all the staff caring to her e.g. throwing and catching balloons which helps her hand eye coordination. I see an improvement in her attitude and she is more settled and relaxed thanks to the caring staff.

Things are better for me since Lifest supported me to move into my own home and become more independent. I like that my support workers listen to me, respect my choices and don't judge me. They support me to get out into the community and do the things I enjoy. I really like my support workers and feel comfortable with them. I even wrote a letter to my Support Coordinator to tell them that I "love, love, love my workers!"

I’ve been with Lifest for about 5 years now and I really like the support I get from them. I especially enjoy the activities at Shine House because I get to go out, have fun and see other people. Lifest has helped me reach my goal of living more independently, and I’m really proud of how far I’ve come. My next goal is to have my own apartment and live without other participants. They’re helping me work towards this by building up my skills and helping me learn to use public transport. I can now catch the bus and train by myself, which I’m really proud of!

I have been with Lifest for 5 years and I really enjoy my supports. I like going to Shine House, playing songs on the speakers and doing activities like beading. I also like going shopping with my support workers and having someone to spend time with. With the help of my support workers, I have learnt how to make brownies by myself and how to save some money. I also really enjoy going to hydrotherapy and having fun while I’m there. In the future, I would like to keep having support workers who are caring and understanding and who support me to do the things I enjoy. I’m also really looking forward to singing at the Christmas party again!
Paula
I really enjoy the support I receive from Lifest. I like knowing that there is always someone here to help me when I need it. My support workers help me with things like cooking, getting dressed, showering and taking my medication. I really appreciated the opportunity and support to leave Wisteria and move into a home again. Lifest helped me through the transition and made it possible for me to be supported in my own home. My goal for the future is to become more independent and eventually live by myself again. For now, I’m happy with the support I receive and having the flexibility to do things in my own home.

I have been with Lifest for 7 years and really enjoy being part of Lifest. I especially love the activities at Shine House, like BBQs, colouring and painting rocks. They are always lots of fun and give me something to look forward to. One of my goals is to become more independent, and Lifest supports me to work towards this at my own pace. So far, I have moved into my own self-contained unit and I’m learning more about budgeting and cooking. What I like most about Lifest is the staff. They are caring, encouraging and always there for me when I need them. I really appreciate all the support they give me.
Tracey
My support workers are always punctual, reliable and there when I need help. Lifest has helped me get well and stay out of hospital, which was a really big goal for me. I like that Lifest has matched me with cotenants who are a good fit for me and that I can have support 24/7. I’m thankful that my support workers help me with my routine and also spend time doing things I enjoy, like colouring in. We are also making goals, including making things with modelling clay and learning airbrush art, which I’m really looking forward to.
Rodney
I have been with Lifest for like four years and have always felt supported to work towards my goals. Lifest listens to my feedback and has matched me with workers who understand me. I really enjoy having conversations with them about my interests and feel like they take the time to get to know me.
