A Comfortable Place to Stay While
Your Long-Term Home Gets Ready
Sometimes you know where you are going next, you just cannot move there yet. Lifest HealthCare provides Medium Term Accommodation (MTA) in Brisbane for eligible NDIS participants who need an appropriate temporary place to stay while they transition towards their longer-term home and living arrangement.

What Is NDIS Medium
Term Accommodation?
Medium Term Accommodation is an NDIS home and living support for eligible participants who need temporary accommodation in specific circumstances. MTA may be funded for up to 90 days while you are unable to move into or return to an appropriate longer-term home.
MTA itself covers the temporary accommodation. Other disability-related supports you need during your stay, such as personal care, are funded separately through the appropriate supports in your NDIS plan.
Who May Be Eligible for Medium Term Accommodation?
Medium Term Accommodation is not designed as general temporary or emergency housing. It is intended for specific disability-related transition situations.
Leaving Hospital
Ready to leave hospital but need a place while arrangements are established.
Waiting for SDA
Approved for SDA but the property/vacancy is not ready.
Home Modifications
Home modifications mean you cannot live safely in your usual home.
Transitioning
Preparing for longer-term living involving SIL or ILO.
More Than Somewhere to Wait
A temporary address should not mean putting your life on pause.
At Lifest HealthCare, we look beyond the accommodation itself and consider how your broader approved supports can help you maintain the routines, skills and connections that matter to you.
What Does Medium Term Accommodation Cover?
Medium Term Accommodation May Cover
Accommodation costs for eligible participants.
Medium Term Accommodation Does Not Automatically Cover
Food, utilities, personal care, and other everyday living expenses (these may be covered by other parts of your NDIS plan).
Your Transition With Lifest HealthCare
Creating Stability During an Important Transition
Periods between living arrangements can involve significant change, particularly when a participant is preparing to leave hospital, waiting for an appropriate property or moving towards a longer-term home and living solution. Lifest HealthCare's Medium Term Accommodation in Brisbane provides eligible NDIS participants with a temporary environment where stability, familiarity and continuity can remain priorities throughout the transition. Lifest understands that this period is not simply about having somewhere to stay: it is an important stage between where someone has been and where they are going next.
At Lifest HealthCare, MTA is approached with the participant's longer-term direction in mind. Maintaining important relationships, appointments, community connections and established routines during a temporary stay can help reduce unnecessary disruption while future arrangements are being finalised. By keeping the participant and their next stage of living at the centre of the conversation, Lifest aims to make Medium Term Accommodation feel like a purposeful part of the journey rather than a period of uncertainty.
Where a stay leads next depends on the arrangement being worked towards. Read more about Supported Independent Living, Individualised Living Options and Short Term Accommodation. Participants returning from hospital may also need support from their external clinical team.
